TURNS
By Reg Livermore
Performed by Nancye Hayes and Reg Livermore
Musical Direction by Michael Tyack
Two of the icons of Australian theatre, Nancye Hayes OAM and Reg Livermore AO, take the stage together in the premiere season of TURNS,
a new work from the pen of Mr Livermore.
Best described as ‘a pantomime with a twist’, TURNS is the newest work in Reg Livermore’s stable of pantomimes and follies, continuing the tradition he began with the smash hit Betty Blokk Buster in 1975.
Panto star Marjory Joy is dying (or is she?). As she reflects on a life spent in showbusiness (or was it?), son Alistair tries to understand this woman, all women – and to come to terms with one woman in particular... Nancye and Reg play all the roles in this innovative two-hander, musically directed by Michael Tyack.
Whimsical, sometimes macabre but very funny, TURNS is a reflection on showbusiness, mothers and sons, identity... and completely losing your marbles. This tour-de-force features two legends at the height of their craft, creating a once in a life time theatrical experience.
